Fernando Amorsolo was born on May 30, 1892, in Metro Manila. [ 5 ] [ 6 ] His parents were Pedro Amorsolo and Bonifacia Cueto. [ 7 ] His father quickly found work in Daet, Camarines Norte months after Fernando's birth, and the family lived there until his father died when Amorsolo was 11.

Imao finished high school in 1956. During the same year, the Philippine Navy held a floating exhibit named LST which hosted works of Filipino artists, Fernando Amorsolo, Botong Francisco and Vicente Manansala.
