West Preston Middle School is a small middle school located in Masontown, West Virginia, and consists of two main buildings. As of 2012, the school is 95 years old. The current principal is James Hoit. In 2015, a new middle school will be built, as the levy held in 2010 gave permission to go ahead.

This consolidation and the building of the new campus opened in 1992. Originally, Preston High only enrolled students from grades 10–12, but in the fall of 1998, the middle school concept was established in Preston County, and ninth graders joined the student body. The school enrollment has been approximately 1,400 since then. [4]
