The 2024–25 season is the 93rd season in the history of Wigan Athletic Football Club and their second consecutive season in League One. In addition to the domestic league , the club will also participate in the FA Cup , the EFL Cup , and the EFL Trophy .
Since 1999, Wigan Athletic F.C. had been unofficially affiliated to an independent women's team called Wigan Athletic Ladies. [1] In March 2024, the club launched its own official women's football team, [2] and were accepted into the Lancashire Women's County League for the 2024–25 season. [3]
