Texas State Technical College (TSTC) is a public technical college with its main campus near Waco, Texas.TSTC is the State of Texas's only public multicampus technical college, offering associate degrees and certificates in technical skills and trades on 10 campuses throughout the state.
The school offers the basic classes required to graduate in the state of Texas. Seniors have the option to not take an art course to give more time towards their capstone. Unique types of classes called "project time" or "capstone time" are used to give students independent work times with teacher facilitation.

Harmony experienced a lack of qualified math and science teachers in Texas. To alleviate the shortage, Harmony began the Grow Your Own Teacher program, which encourages and financially supports its alumni who earn teaching certificates. This program greatly reduced the number of Harmony teachers on H1-B visas. [citation needed]
The school was founded in 1989 as the Math and Science Academy. [citation needed] Jorge Lopez, the principal of neighboring Med High served as principal. After a year, the school's name was changed to The Science Academy of South Texas. In 1992, the main building was completed and classes moved out of the portables.
