I've got a Gen 1 small block 350 with the casting number 14093638 and the front stamp V0709USA. It currently has an Edelbrock 3704 tbi intake on it with 10088113 aluminum heads. I have a 400 small block in my 70 1/2 Camaro and I have a little problem with power. The engine shakes more than I would expect, because everything is mostly stock at this point. I started with the body work, then interior and now power train. In my troubleshooting, the first thing I noticed is the temperature of the exhaust header at the ...

If you chase the uncleaned areas of the bore, you end up with excessive bore size, leaving you with a noisy oil burning piece of crap, or more accurately, an engine requiring a proper overbore and new pistons. If you want to hone and rering an engine yourself without proper measuring tools, remember to only make about 6 strokes per cylinder.
