When you write your message in the Discord server, drag-and-drop the latest log file from your logs folder and attach a screenshot of File Explorer in your mods folder. Common issues are: using the Iris-only profile from the Iris Installer putting mods outside of the mods folder putting mods in a subfolder inside the mods folder
i already had fabric in and everything in the right folder (only because one of the mods made my game crash at launch and complained i didn't have fabric installed, honestly) but this got everything working smoothly somehow. i should've thought to look for a fabric subreddit also, lol. in any case, thank you very much :)
Fabric mods with Paper? I have a vanilla server which runs on Paper . I was wondering if there was a way to add server-only mods like Phosphor without switching to a Fabric server.
Fabric has hundreds of great, high quality mods. I've even found that Fabric, on average, just has higher quality mods overall. That being said, a lot of Fabric mods have a vanilla+ style, meaning they don't stray too far from Minecraft's original aesthetic.
Fabric API - required by most mods AFKTape - Hold down your desired key and press K to simulate taping down buttons while AFK Appleskin - view useful information about food items and hunger Canvas - A rendering library for Fabric mods that offers visual improvements for players
As someone who codes mods and has done some development for both, Fabric is as the name suggests, a very thin powerful layer that lets people develop mods very quickly, and allows fabric to be ported to snapshots/new versions very quickly. Downside is it has zero features built in. Like nothing. Its like building a house with an empty lot.
What essential and must have mods do you guys suggest? Trying to build up a decent collection. Saw some Industrial Revolution mod for Fabric, any good? Or any other big mods you suggest? Shame Fabric doesn't have Mekanism Forge mod, I love that one. Please help me and the community build a decent collection of Fabric mods.
fabric is stuck in a bit of a catch 22 right now, where modders want to target where players are, and players want lots of mods, so it's hard to break away from forge. they're doing a really good job, honestly, in trying to slowly build momentum on the fabric side, but that's a slow process.
A fabric lib for forge is unlikely due to how forge works, but in the discord you can run the !!fabriforge command and see that there is work on a forge compatibility layer called patchwork, current progress is that it works on a very small subset of all mods that dont do anything weird, but the fact that it even works at all is an incredible achievement.
If not, create a new profile and choose IRIS+Fabric from the versions list. Run this once to create the Mods folder, which will be in your .minecraft folder by default (unless you specify a dedicated GameDirectory in your profile to keep your mods/versions clean).
