It was a Certified used car but the 6 year warranty ran out while the car was for sale. The Subaru dealer selling me the car has offered to sell me a Subaru $1,800 extended warranty, backed by Subaru, for $1,300. This is the “Classic” Subaru extended warranty for 36 months or 36,000 miles.
This is my story about extended warranty with Subaru. Do not ever let the dealer to take advantage of you when purchasing extended warranty. When I bought my car at Liberty Subaru Libertyville IL I thought the best place to buy the extended warranty would be the same dealership. Well I was wrong.
As a matter of fact, Subaru N.A. will probably mail you a notice before regular warranty runs out and offers you the extended warranty plan. The genuine Subaru dealers (as of 2 years ago) are no longer allowed to advertise these extended warranty plans's prices so it helps to shop around.
I recently bought a 2011 Certified Used Subaru with 3900 miles from the local Subaru dealer. When I purchased it, the business manager informed me that warranties have changed recently, they are no longer bumper-to-bumper and covered only defects in materials or workmanship. Greetings! I recently bought a 2017 Forester from my father-in-law who takes great care of his vehicles. I just bought Subaru’s 5-year, 75,000 mile extended warranty Plan F Hi-tech Component Coverage (seals/gaskets, electronic hi-tech components, factory-installed nav system, and electrical plus), which also covers Plans D (powertrain) and E (cooling, air conditioning, front suspension ...

I think the powertrain warranty is 6 years, 70K miles. The original bumper-to-bumper warranty is 4 years, 60K miles. How long do you plan to keep the car? I actually bought the Infiniti 7 year/100K miles $50 deductable for around the $1600 price. I was considering canceling it, but it sounds like I got a decent deal.
In 2010 I purchased a Toyota Certified Used Car from Jim Bishop Toyota in Tuscumbia, AL. Everything has been great until I tried to trade the vehicle today and found out it had been wrecked in 2008. The Toyota Certified Used Car information states that 1 of the 160 point inspection is a CarFax history.
