The Sun 'n Lake of Sebring improvement district is a special district and unincorporated community in Highlands County, Florida, United States. It is located northwest of Sebring , off US 27 . It has a similar name to nearby Sun 'n Lakes South, a subdivision south of Lake Placid , also in Highlands County.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,106 square miles (2,860 km 2), of which 1,017 square miles (2,630 km 2) is land and 89 square miles (230 km 2) (8.1%) is water. [6] [7] In area, it is the 14th largest county in Florida. Highlands County is bounded on the east by the Kissimmee River.

Lake Sebring is a natural freshwater lake in Highlands County, Florida, and located north of Sebring, Florida, and Lake Jackson. Lake Jackson, covering 3,212 acres (12.95 km 2), is located within the city of Sebring, Florida. Sebring is the county seat of Highlands County. Lake Jackson, a freshwater lake, is approximately 25 feet (8 m) at its deepest. Most of the area is fairly shallow. The water is clear as compared to most lakes and the shores are sandy.
The City of Sebring purchased the land and leased it to the government at $1 per year for 99 years. On July 20, 1941 construction began with Cleary Brothers of West Palm Beach as the General Contractor and Colonel A. H. Bond of the United States Army Corps of Engineers in charge.
