Some additional environmental effect might be required to start the disease (HA Lyall "Dupuytren's disease in identical twins" J Hand Surg [Br]. 1993 Jun;18(3):368-70 abstract). Damage (or rather healing) of the hand can trigger Dupuytren's disease (see also Dupuytren's work related?).
Any ideas on bringing awareness to a public forum? - This forum is fantastic for all of us!! Without it, we would certainly be lost and probably more physically damaged!
Hands have really improved. Now my only problem is occaisional arthritis, from age and results of surgery. I will quit rambling. But I think since 1975, my first surgery, that the subject has been better studied and the surgeons know more about the effects of hand surgery. Hope this helps sorry to ramble. Quote

I phoned Dr.Groppers office at the hospital with regards to the referral process.His office assistant asked what type of hand problem, I mentioned finger and no definite diagnosis yet.She said he sees patients with carpal tunnel, trigger finger at the hospital.
Patients with Dupuytren's disease suffer significantly more often from frozen shoulder. Physio and cortisone injection can release a frozen shoulder.
