Great review! Funny on the digital system part. I have a few high end vehicles (Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche) and you’d be surprised how often systems fail. I found Porsche to be the best. My old 2013 Ferrari FF had a head unit from that era dodge/Chrysler and holy crap it was bad.
Porsche Carrera S (makes sense to get more power); 20-inch Carrera Classic Wheels (personal choice, really); Wheel center caps with full-color Porsche crest; Adaptive Sports Seats Plus with leather interior (I always want the best seats and don't like plastic); Natural/Special leather (I like the espresso color myself);
Specialized local Porsche workshop recommended to take the car to the dealer for battery replacement The dealer said they will try tackling some firmware tomorrow, and if it fails, they will charge me $2000 for the new battery. I heard, some folks managed to use aftermarket lithium batteries that cost about $1000.
Great car, but sort of loses it’s specialness with daily use. Have felt that way about every Porsche that I have owned to date. Owned an Alfa Romeo 4C Spider previously, and that car was a special event every time I drove it. Much more engaging to drive than the Porsche, despite the Porsche being more capable in every way.
With the regular fixed setups, there shouldn't be any major issues with braking, as long as you don't abruptly smash the brakes to 100%.
I bought this new and have held onto the disk for decades. Such a great game and a great walk though Porsche history. The 356. Moby Dick. RS 2.7. Porsche sold exclusive rights to EA Sports so this was the only game that modeled real Porsche cars. For every other game your only option was a RUF.
Porsche's suspension wizardry might make it feel lighter than it is, but even with a much more efficient modern powerplant it's being asked to pull around a lot more weight. That said, the EPA numbers for a Macan S match the observed average fuel consumption for a 993 at ~20 mpg combined.
Things will fail with age, and the Porsche tax is a real thing when it comes to parts/labor. Expect a budget of roughly 2k a year for regular maintenance and be prepared to either DIY or spend $$$ for larger things like a new clutch, etc.
