The former Franklin County Veterans Memorial in 2005. The current museum occupies the same location. The site along the west side of the Scioto River near the Discovery Bridge on Broad Street was originally home to the Franklin County Veterans Memorial, [3] which originally opened in 1955 [4] and was demolished to make way for the museum in early 2015, [5] by S.G. Bowie decided to return to making music for himself, [91] and, having been put in touch with Reeves Gabrels through his publicist for the Glass Spider Tour, [92] Bowie formed his band Tin Machine in 1989 [24] and retired his back catalogue of songs from live performance with his Sound+Vision Tour in 1990.
The set for the theatrical Diamond Dogs tour was designed by Mark Ravitz, who later did the set for Bowie's 1987 Glass Spider Tour. Bowie released his album Outside in late September 1995, having recorded it from early 1994 through early 1995, [2] for which this tour was named. It was Bowie's first solo tour since he retired his hits during the 1990 Sound+Vision Tour, and his first performances on stage since The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1992. [3]
