Youth Off The Streets is an Australian non-denominational not-for-profit youth organisation. The organisation works with young people and their families and communities in an endeavour to create safety, offer support and provide opportunities to build a positive future. Riley founded Youth Off The Streets (YOTS) in 1991 [2] with a food van delivering meals to homeless youth in the Kings Cross area in Sydney.Since then the organisation has grown to offer more than 35 services, including aboriginal programs, crisis accommodation, alcohol and other drug services, counselling, accredited high schools, outreach, residential programs and a mentoring program.
Lord Shaftesbury became patron to the society, and he launched an initiative to take boys off the streets and give them onboard maritime training.
