Shōji Satō (佐藤 ショウジ, Satō Shōji) is a Japanese manga artist and illustrator. He has also published various dōjinshi under the pen name Inazuma and runs an erotic genre group called Digital Accel Works. [1] He is responsible for the character design and illustration for the Highschool of the Dead manga.
Daisuke Sato, who has previously worked on various military genre games and manga, which include Imperial Guards, wrote the story which uses the perspective of Japanese high school students and refers to classic zombie apocalypse movies such as Dawn of the Dead. [1]
An OVA episode of H.O.T.D., entitled "Drifters of the Dead", was bundled with the limited edition of the seventh volume of the manga on Blu-ray April 26, 2011. [11] It was originally intended for a February release, but was pushed back. [12] The series' opening theme song is "HIGHSCHOOL OF THE DEAD" by Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets. [13]

A second season called High School DxD New (ハイスクールD×D NEW, Haisukūru Dī Dī Nyū) aired from July 7 to September 22, 2013. A third season called High School DxD BorN (ハイスクールD×D BorN, Haisukūru Dī Dī Bōn) aired from April 4 to June 20, 2015.
Beginning in 2004 as a one-man unit covering songs from different series, more members joined in 2007, and in 2010 the band made their major debut with the single "Highschool of the Dead", used as the opening theme of the 2010 anime television series of the same name.
