Georgia 4-H was founded in 1904 by G.C. Adams in Newton County, Georgia, United States, as the Girls Canning, and Boys Corn Clubs.. The Georgia 4-H Program is a branch of Georgia Cooperative Extension, which is part of the University of Georgia College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, and is funded by the University System of Georgia and private partners.
The camp is surrounded by over 10,000 acres (40 km 2) of wilderness and hiking trails in the Chattahoochee National Forest. Ramah Darom attracts campers and staff from Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Oklahoma, Israel, Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Ohio, Illinois, Arkansas, and Nebraska.
The summer camp that takes place every summer at Burton 4-H Center is organized under Georgia 4-H Program. It last form 6 to 8 weeks depending upon camper registration and the year. Campers arrive on Monday and return home on a Friday. This leaves the weekend open for the camp counselors to prepare the center for the next week's campers.

H. Clay Hemrick Scout Reservation is an Old North State Council operated camp outside the council boundaries on an island in Kerr Lake near Clarksville, Virginia. It is the least used of the ONSC camps and can only be accessed by watercraft. [4] Facilities on the island include latrines, a small dining hall, a boating dock, and a lodge building.
