The club was founded in 2010, eight years after the previous Hapoel Baqa al-Gharbiyye club had folded at the end of the 2001–02 season, after last played in Liga Bet North B division. [ 1 ] The club finished the 2010–11 season on top of Liga Gimel Samaria division and achieved promotion to Liga Bet.
In 2002–03 Kafr Kanna were relegated back to Liga Artzit, where they have remained until their relegation to Liga Alef in the end of the 2008–09 season. In 2013–14, the club finished 15th in Liga Alef North, and relegated to Liga Bet. The club dissolved at the summer of 2014 and did not enter Liga Bet for the 2014–15 season. [2]
The 1989–90 Liga Alef season saw Maccabi Acre and Hapoel Ashdod promoted to Liga Artzit as the respective winners of the north and south division. They were joined by Ironi Ashdod who won the promotion/relegation play-offs. Hapoel Bnei Nazareth, Beitar Haifa, Hapoel Or Yehuda and Hapoel Dimona were all relegated to Liga Bet.
