RTVE Play is an over-the-top video on demand streaming service owned and operated by RTVE which replaced the latter's old streaming portal 'alacarta' in June 2021. Besides the programming in the linear stations of TVE and RNE and the content from Playz, the platform distributes a number of exclusive original shows as well it releases pre-screenings of the linear airings.
Embedded within the RTVE webpage, [1] Playz was launched on 30 October 2017, [2] with the release of Colegas, Mambo [], Dorien and Inhibidos. [3] The launch was predated by the premiere of another original release on 11 September 2017, Si fueras tú, a transmedia fiction series loosely adapting the New Zealand series Reservoir Hill which served to promote the kickstart of the platform.
The original online platform offering RTVE content was created in 2008 under the name RTVE a la carta or simply A la carta or alacarta.In late 2020, RTVE announced its intention to merge its A la carta service together with the embedded Playz streaming platform specifically dedicated to a young audience. Estoy vivo is a Spanish crime television series with supernatural and comedy elements. Created by Daniel Écija and produced by RTVE in collaboration with Globomedia and Good Mood, it premiered on 7 September 2017 on La 1. [1] [2] Its fourth season premiered on 10 March 2021.
The series was produced by Little Dreams Films AIE, Set Màgic Audiovisual, The Fly Hunter and Empatic Films for RTVE Play with the participation of À Punt Mèdia and IB3, funding from Crea SGR, backing from IVC and the collaboration of Canary Islands Film – Gobierno de Canarias.
The series is a RTVE and StudioCanal co-production in collaboration with Bambú Producciones . [4] Shooting locations included El Rincón palace in Aldea del Fresno and El Jaral de la Mira plot, [3] as well as two soundstages with a total area of around 3,000 square metres (32,000 sq ft). [5] [4]
