Atlanta Dragway was a drag racing facility located in Banks County, Georgia, just north of Commerce, Georgia. From 1981 until its closure after the 2021 season, it hosted the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, Southern Nationals.

Commerce is located in northeastern Jackson County at (34.206520, -83.461203 Interstate 85 runs through the northern part of the city, with access from Exits 147 and 149. I-85 leads southwest 70 miles (110 km) to Atlanta and northeast 78 miles (126 km) to Greenville, South Carolina .
Gainesville Raceway, which has a capacity of 30,000, opened in 1969 and held its first Gatornationals event in 1970. Long considered one of the fastest tracks on the NHRA circuit, [citation needed] it was from this launch point that drivers clocked the first 260-, 270- and 300-mph Top Fuel runs.
Just before leaving Commerce is an interchange with Interstate 85 (I-85). Just after entering Maysville , it intersects the northern terminus of SR 82 Connector . Farther into town, it crosses into Banks County immediately before meeting the eastern terminus of SR 52 (Gillsville Road).
