The First Baptist Church (also known as the Brick-A-Day Church) on North Ripley Street in Montgomery, Alabama, is a historic landmark.Founded in downtown Montgomery in 1867 as one of the first black churches in the area, it provided an alternative to the second-class treatment and discrimination African-Americans faced at the other First Baptist Church in the city.
The Holt Street Baptist Church is a historic Baptist church in Montgomery, Alabama, United States. [2] The church served as a meeting place for Montgomery's black community during the Montgomery bus boycott. Built in 1913, the church closed in 1998, when the congregation moved to a new location in Montgomery.
The Shiloh Baptist Church, also known as the Shiloh Negro Baptist Church, located at the corner of 7th Avenue and 19th Street, was at the time the largest black church in Birmingham. Lebanon Chapel AME Church is a historic African Methodist Episcopal church bounded by Young Street on the West and Middle Street on the North in Fairhope, Alabama, United States. It was built in 1923 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
It is the fourth building the congregation has erected at this location. Scenes from the 1982 television movie Sister, Sister were shot at the church. It was placed on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage on March 3, 1976, and the National Register of Historic Places on January 24, 1991. [1] [2]

As of February 5, 2022, Church of the Highlands listed 25 campuses in Alabama and Georgia. [10] Its most recent purpose-built campus is the Woodlawn Campus near Birmingham Shuttlesworth International Airport. It opened on September 11, 2022. [11] In 2023, the church opened "The Lodge at Grants Mill" on its main campus in Irondale, Alabama.
The 16th Street Baptist Church is a Baptist church in Birmingham, Alabama, United States. In 1963, the church was bombed by Ku Klux Klan members. The bombing killed four young girls in the midst of the Civil Rights Movement. The church is still in operation and is a central landmark in the Birmingham Civil Rights District.
