ÉLECTRE is a family of multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) methods that originated in Europe in the mid-1960s. The acronym ÉLECTRE stands for: ÉLimination Et Choix Traduisant la REalité ("Elimination and Choice Translating Reality"). The method was first proposed by Bernard Roy and his colleagues at SEMA consultancy company.
Various methods have been proposed for measuring influence. [3] [4] Assume an estimated regression = +, where is an n×1 column vector for the response variable, is the n×k design matrix of explanatory variables (including a constant), is the n×1 residual vector, and is a k×1 vector of estimates of some population parameter .
In statistics, ordinary least squares (OLS) is a type of linear least squares method for choosing the unknown parameters in a linear regression model (with fixed level-one [clarification needed] effects of a linear function of a set of explanatory variables) by the principle of least squares: minimizing the sum of the squares of the differences between the observed dependent variable (values ...
Partial least squares (PLS) regression is a statistical method that bears some relation to principal components regression and is a reduced rank regression [1]; instead of finding hyperplanes of maximum variance between the response and independent variables, it finds a linear regression model by projecting the predicted variables and the observable variables to a new space of maximum ...
The jackknife pre-dates other common resampling methods such as the bootstrap. Given a sample of size n {\displaystyle n} , a jackknife estimator can be built by aggregating the parameter estimates from each subsample of size ( n − 1 ) {\displaystyle (n-1)} obtained by omitting one observation.
Mahalanobis distance and leverage are often used to detect outliers, especially in the development of linear regression models. A point that has a greater Mahalanobis distance from the rest of the sample population of points is said to have higher leverage since it has a greater influence on the slope or coefficients of the regression equation.
The framework replaced both non-internal model approaches: the Current Exposure Method (CEM) and the Standardised Method (SM). It is intended to be a "risk-sensitive methodology", i.e. conscious of asset class and hedging , that differentiates between margined and non-margined trades and recognizes netting benefits ; considerations ...
The Piotroski F-score is a method invented or thought up a few decades ago. Since realities are no longer what they were when it was conceived, it can happen that this strategy, although effective, suffers from some shortcomings. First, it is a strategy that only compares a company's results in one year to those of the previous year.
