Pedro B. Escuro (2 August 1923 – 8 September 2000) was a Filipino scientist who specialized in genetics and plant breeding. [1] As a plant breeder, he made significant contributions to rice breeding.
Among them was Dioscoro Umali who received his PhD in Genetics at Cornell. He would succeed Uichanco as dean upon his death in October 1959. Umali's administration oversaw the Department of Food Science and Technology. New facilities were also constructed under his Five-Year Development Program. [19]
