Jamaica Hospital for Children is a children's hospital in Kingston, Jamaica, located on Arthur Wint Drive in the Kingston 5 district of the city, near the national stadium Independence Park and the Bob Marley statue. It is the only children's hospital amongst English speaking nations in the Caribbean.

Kingston Public Hospital was first opened on 14 December 1776. [1] However, the institution was officially ratified on 21 December, 1776, when the Jamaica Assembly passed an Act (17 Geo. III c. 26) establishing the hospital.

Founded in Kingston in September 1918, the facility houses children from all parishes ranging in age from birth to 18 years. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] [ 4 ] Children are admitted to the home after having been determined to be in need of care and protection as provided by the Child Care and Protection Act, which was nationalized in 2004.
