The music video was filmed in August 2010. Two different versions of the video were filmed: a Korean version and an English version—and were both directed by Seo Hyun-seung, who has also directed 2NE1's previous videos such as "Fire" and "Try to Follow Me". Filming for the music video lasted about 4 days for both the Korean and English versions.
A Japanese version for the song was later included in the group's Japanese edition of their second Korean studio album Crush, which was released on June 25, 2014. The track was also featured in the 2NE1 Best Collection -Korea Edition- compilation album, which was released by YGEX in December of the same year.
A remix of the song by M-Flo was released digitally on Recochoku on March 14, 2012, before the single itself was released on March 28. A recording of "Scream" in Korean was included on the tracklist of 2NE1's second studio album Crush , which was released in February 2014.
