The Tambo Memorial Hospital (previously known as Boksburg Benoni Hospital) is a regional hospital located in Boksburg in Gauteng Province, South Africa.. This regional hospital is situated about 70 km from Pretoria, 30 km from Johannesburg CBD and 10 km from O. R. Tambo International Airport.
It is one of the oldest hospitals in Gauteng, opened in 1905 as the Boksburg-Benoni Hospital, a joint hospital of the State and East Rand Proprietary Mines.Tambo Memorial Hospital has about 640 beds with a staff complement of approximately 1100. The hospital provides service in Benoni, Boksburg, and part of Germiston to a population of >1 million.
Kempton Park is also served by a number of metropolitan routes linking it to surrounding towns and cities in the East Rand (City of Ekurhuleni). The M16 links Kempton Park with Edenvale to the south-west. The M32 links Kempton Park with Benoni to the east. The M43 links Kempton Park with Boksburg to the south.

Springs is served by two national highways. The N12 is an east/west freeway, connecting Springs with Witbank to the east and with Johannesburg in the west. The N17 is also an east/west freeway, but connects Springs with Ermelo in the east and Johannesburg in the west. Springs is also served by four regional routes, the R29, R51, R554 and the R555.

The station was founded as East Rand Stereo and initially broadcast from a studio in Casseldale Springs with a small reception area. Its first license was granted for three and a half days a week, sharing its 93.9 FM frequency with another community radio station. It received a license in 1999 to broadcast seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
