Colonial High School is a public high school located in Orlando, Florida, United States. Colonial serves grades 8–12 within the neighborhoods of Azalea Park , Engelwood Park, Rio Pinar, Lake Fredrica, Ventura, Pershing, Vista East, Vista Park and parts of unincorporated Orange County .

Groundbreaking for Colonial Plaza began in mid-1954. The site chosen for the center was the corner of Colonial Drive (Florida State Road 50) and Bumby Avenue, on land previously used as a cow pasture. Overall construction costs were estimated at $3,000,000 (equivalent to $34,037,175 in 2023).

[3] The district serves about 209,000 students at 213 schools and is one of the largest employers in Central Florida with more than 25,000 team members. [3]
The student population peaked at 4,500 and in 1993 the 9th Grade Center opened 3 miles (4.8 km) to the west of the main campus. Evans' demographics also began to change in the 1980s as newer high schools were constructed on its periphery, removing previous students from its catchment area.
