Southern Michigan Gun Club (prior to merger): In 1940 three men: G.A. Nash, Joseph VandenBerg, and John Lepird met at Nash’s home and decided to form the nucleus of a gun club. A meeting or two was held, one in a log cabin in Milham Park arranged by Al Hathaway.

Six times a year we welcome 30 new members who want to join our gun club. This is our NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION, and we review range rules and history with those in attendance.

Training. Within the SMGC Training SIG's membership more than a dozen NRA Certified Instructors, MDNR Hunter Education, International Bow (Hunter) Education Program Instructors and MCRGO (Michigan Coalition of Responsible Gun Owners) CPL classes.
We are dedicated to encouraging women to join and enjoy the shooting sports. We meet on the fourth Saturday of each month, at 10 am to 12 pm, in either the Pistol Pit (April to October) or the Indoor Range (January to March), and our events are listed in both the SMGC calendar and newsletter.
