Top end is 43mph with 5 on board with a optimal cruise of 28mph at 8mpg. It drafts 5 inches and easy as can be for a sandbar day or getting into the skinny water. We bought it new and have not had any warranty or structural issues. The gel coat on the outside is still as shiny as new. We do wax it twice a year.
The Boating Forum - Carolina Skiff 24 Ultra - any owners here? - Just checked one out at Miami show, the 24' Ultra model. Really nice boat, drafts 9". Fully decked out it was about 60 grand with a Suzuki 250. Curious to hear of actual owners' experiences with it, real world chop and smooth/shallow water.
Both are around 6-7 years old. Sundance DX20 tunnel - yamaha 115, 80 hours, power pole, bimini top Carolina Skiff DLX 198 Tunnel - Suzuki 115, 120 hours, jack plate, trolling motor, after market t top Both priced within $1k of each other. Of those two I would go with the Sundance mostly for Yamaha power and the Bimini.
So, my overall impression is that this is a solidly built, no frills, affordable boat. It seems that Carolina Skiff chose to take the path of limiting the options to keep the price down instead of cutting corners. Fit and finish work all looked more than acceptable and beating on the hull and floor with my fist found no soft or “dead” spots.

The ride, handling, workmanship, water in the hull issues and best power. I have a 2017 18jvx. I tried the boat with a Yamaha, Suzuki, and etec. The 70 yami was the worst for the hull for performance. The Suzuki 70 got the best mpg at about 8mpg with WOT 34mph. 75hp Etec 7mpg with 41mph WOT. Choice imo is between etec and Suzuki.
