Dirt track racing is the single most common form of auto racing in the United States. According to the National Speedway Directory, there are over 700 dirt oval tracks in operation in the US. [1] The composition of the dirt on tracks has an effect on the amount of grip available. Many tracks use clay with a specific mixture of dirt.
I-70 Speedway is now the home to a state of the art facility and 1/2 mile dirt oval racetrack hosting events for every kind of motorsports enthusiast. Classes of motorsport include but are not limited to 410 winged sprint cars, non-winged sprint cars, super dirt late models, modifieds, monster trucks, flat track motorcycles, and motocross bikes.

Motocross (or MX) is the direct equivalent of road racing, but off-road, a number of bikes racing on a closed circuit. Motocross circuits are constructed on a variety of non-tarmac surfaces such as dirt, sand, mud, grass, etc., and tend to incorporate elevation changes either natural or artificial.
An offroad supercross-motocross-style track was added to host off-road dirt buggy racing. The construction was started in 2016 and completed by 2017, with inaugural events in 2017. Racing on the track includes offroad trucks, offroad buggies, motocross bikes. As of 2017, it is the only one of its type in southwest Missouri. [6] [7]
