The Hotel Negresco is a hotel and site of the restaurant Le Chantecler, located on the Promenade des Anglais [1] on the Baie des Anges in Nice, France. It was named after Henri Negresco (1868–1920), who had the palatial hotel constructed in 1912. [ 2 ]
Hotel Negresco. Henri Alexandre Negresco (né Alexandru Negrescu; 14 March 1870 – 14 May 1920) was a Romanian hotelier and founder of the Hotel Negresco in Nice, France. [1] He died bankrupt after World War I, his hotel having been commandeered into a hospital during the war.
Hôtel Negresco founded by Henri Négresco and realized by Édouard Niermans in 1912 on the promenade des Anglais in Nice. In 1908 Niermans renovated the Hôtel de Paris in Monte-Carlo, expanding it and decorating the interior in an opulent baroque style. [8]
