The US Post Office–South Norwalk Main, also known as Norwalk Main Post Office, is located at 16 Washington Street in Norwalk, Connecticut. It is a single story steel and concrete structure, faced in limestone. It was designed in 1936 and built in 1937, and is an example of what has been termed "starved classicism".
The U.S. Post Office-New London Main is located at 27 Masonic Street in New London, Connecticut. Completed in 1934 as part of a Depression-era jobs program, it is one of the small number of such post offices designed by a private architectural firm, Payne & Keefe. The US Post Office-Norwich Main is located at 340 Main Street in downtown Norwich, Connecticut. Built in 1905 and enlarged in 1938, it is a good local example of Classical Revival architecture, with an unusual level of detail for a period post office. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 17, 1986. [1]
