Senator Ruben S. Ayala Senior High School, often abbreviated as Ayala High School or AHS, is located in Chino Hills, California. It is one of the four comprehensive high schools in the Chino Valley Unified School District. The school was established in 1990 and named after California state senator Ruben S. Ayala. [6]
Ayala became the first elected Mayor of Chino, California, in 1964, holding that office until 1966. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] He was elected to the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors in 1965, serving in that county-wide office from 1966 until 1973, including four years as the board's chairman.
It serves the cities of Chino, Chino Hills, and the southwestern portion of Ontario, [2] though originally it served only Chino when it was founded in 1860. It now encompasses 88 square miles (230 km 2 ) and serves about 32,000 students from grades kindergarten up to 12th grade.
