Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner CBE (born 2 October 1951), known as Sting, is an English musician, activist and actor.He was the frontman, principal songwriter and bassist for new wave band the Police from 1977 until their breakup in 1986.
Eliot Paulina Sumner [1] was born on 30 July 1990 in Pisa, Italy [2] to actress Trudie Styler and musician Sting (Gordon Sumner). [3] They grew up in Wiltshire, England, [2] and were educated at Bryanston School and then the Fine Arts College in London. [4] They grew up at Lake House, the family estate near Stonehenge.
Joe Sumner is the son of the musician Sting and Northern Irish actress Frances Tomelty. He is the brother of Fuschia Katherine ("Kate") and half-brother of musician Eliot Sumner [8] and actress Mickey Sumner, who are children of Sting and actress Trudie Styler. He married on 4 December 2011. He has three daughters and one son.
Brigitte Michael "Mickey" Sumner (born 19 January 1984) is an English actress best known for her film roles as Sophie Levee in Frances Ha (2012) and Farrah in The Mend (2014) and her television roles as Katia on Low Winter Sun (2013) and Bess Till on Snowpiercer (2020).

On 25 September 1976, [12] while on tour with the British progressive rock band Curved Air in Newcastle upon Tyne, in the northeast of England, the band's American drummer, Stewart Copeland, met and exchanged phone numbers with ambitious singer-bassist Gordon Sumner, a.k.a. Sting, [13] who at the time was playing in a jazz-rock fusion band called Last Exit. [14]

Sting's new gimmick was directly inspired by the title character of the 1994 film The Crow, and Borden credits Scott Hall for suggesting the idea of the "Crow" character.
