Honda Accord Engine Break-in and First Oil Change Questions. One month after I bought our 06 Accord, I finally got a copy of the Service History booklet. But I was disappointed at the terrible lack of detail. No where in the book are the recommended oil change intervals mentioned. Someone said Honda specifically advises NOT to do the 1st oil ...

We towed the car to the nearest dealer, Colonial Honda of Glendale, that morning. In the afternoon, the rep called and said the engine was seized. He said the mechanic drained only 1 quart of oil from the engine. Because the smart warning system read over 5000 miles overdue in service, Honda denied warranty.

The rear differential is a lubricant for the back wheels (it has to do with turning speed of the wheels), think of it like an oil change. My Honda had 57,000 miles on it for its tuneup and when I asked the service people about it (Honda doesn't even mention changing the rear diff fluid until about 90K) - the service manager told me it's ...

  6. Can you just change the oil filter and not the oil?

    forums.edmunds.com/discussion/2021/general/x/can-you-just-change-the-oil...

Most vehicles really don't need the 3k oil/filter change. But after spending around $20k for a vehicle, I can't justify cutting corners on lube. The oils in the last ten years have improved an incredible amount. There's a rumor that one manufacturer considered building a new engine that didn't have a filter. Just change the oil.

Honda Civic GX Regular Service. I have a 2007 Civic GX and I am just over 5000 miles. They recommend 7500 before oil changes, but my neighbor said I should stick to 5000 miles. I was thinking that at 5000 miles, I can also get the filter work done when it needed to be done when needed. Also, the 15,000 mile oil change involved more than just ...

    forums.edmunds.com/discussion/50438/honda/cr-v/new-cr-v-cold-weather-runs-rich...

Gas is mixing in the oil of our new 2017 Honda CR-V. The 1.5 liter engine does not warm up sufficiently in cold weather, runs rich, and leaves un-combusted gas in the oil. This triggers engine warning lights and requires frequent oil changes. Engine performance and drivability suffer.

It is a biproduct of burning gasoline. The only difference is in non GDI engines, gas washes over the intake valve thus keeping it cleaner. If my oil is that black after only 206 miles, it means that it is saturated with carbon deposits. Carbon by nature is an abrasive. This abrasive is circulating through my engine.
