Gas is mixing in the oil of our new 2017 Honda CR-V. The 1.5 liter engine does not warm up sufficiently in cold weather, runs rich, and leaves un-combusted gas in the oil. This triggers engine warning lights and requires frequent oil changes. Engine performance and drivability suffer.
It is a biproduct of burning gasoline. The only difference is in non GDI engines, gas washes over the intake valve thus keeping it cleaner. If my oil is that black after only 206 miles, it means that it is saturated with carbon deposits. Carbon by nature is an abrasive. This abrasive is circulating through my engine.
