The Redlands Bicycle Classic is the longest continuous running invitational, professional cycling stage race in American bike racing, located in Redlands, California, United States. The race began in 1985 after the 1984 Summer Olympic Games were held nearby in Los Angeles, in which the Team USA earned a record number of medals in cycling.
The Whitney Classic started in 1981 as a fundraiser for Summit Adventure, [2] a non-profit wilderness ministry in Bass Lake, California, and still serves as a major fundraiser for the organization.
