Daily dinner menu at Parker's Restaurant in 1865. Parker's Restaurant predates the historic Parker House Hotel by 22 years. Harvey D. Parker, a coachman for a Watertown woman, frequently dined in a cellar cafe owned by John E. Hunt whenever he visited Boston. In 1832, Parker purchased the cafe from Hunt for $432 and renamed it Parker's Restaurant.
The property has served most of the time since then as an inn and restaurant, but has also seen use as a retreat center and nursing home. [2] Robert Dean II and his boyfriend, Ari Nikki, purchased the hotel in 2005 for $1.6 million. [5] Juniper was featured on Hotel Hell in 2012, during Dean and Nikki's period of operation. [5]
After the railroad was built through the area in 1863, the stage route became the main downtown area, with hotels, and civic and commercial services. Its regional importance was cemented in the 1880s, when it became the county seat of Orleans County, and the Orleans County Courthouse and Jail Complex was built. [2]

By 1856, the organization became more structured with a loose set of rules, with monthly meetings held over dinner at the Parker House. [1] The Parker House served as their place of meeting for many years. It was a hotel built in 1854 by Harvey D. Parker. [3] [4]
