The dam created the Moragahakanda Reservoir, which has an active storage capacity of 521,000,000 m 3 (1.84 × 10 10 cu ft) of water, [12] at a surface elevation of 185 m (607 ft). [13] Two additional embankment saddle dams will also be built to contain the Moragahakanda Reservoir.
