Mason-Dixon Roller Vixens was established in June 2007, and initially practiced in Greencastle, Pennsylvania. [2] It started with eight skaters, and increased to twenty by mid-2009. [ 3 ] Several of them broke off to form Key City Roller Derby, a league in Frederick, Maryland . [ 4 ]
After the 1979 event, the venue would not be visited again for a cross country event until being added to the GNCC schedule in 1987 and remained a part of the series until 2002. The backstretch is confined to run parallel with Illinois Route 203, making Turns 1 & 2 a tighter radius than Turns 3 & 4. Turns 1 & 2 have similar characteristics to New Hampshire Motor Speedway while Turns 3 & 4 are similar to Phoenix Raceway. The track's egg shape mimics the legendary Darlington Raceway and Mobility Resort Motegi race tracks.
