The European Space Operations Centre (ESOC) serves as the main mission control centre for the European Space Agency (ESA) and is located in Darmstadt, Germany. ESOC's primary function is the operation of uncrewed spacecraft on behalf of ESA and the launch and early orbit phases (LEOP) of ESA and third-party missions. [ 2 ]
Construction of the ESOC Building started in 2017, and was completed in 2021. It stands at the south-east corner of Third Ave and Plum St. Walker Cisler Building, General Office Building and Service Building are connected with one another by a covered cafeteria and meeting space in the middle of these three buildings, on the second floor level.
ESDAC was later renamed ESOC, the European Space Operations Centre. ESOC is located in Darmstadt (Germany). After the Bannier Report it gained overall executive authority for spacecraft operation. ESOC's director also became responsible for ESRANGE and for ESTRACK.
