Malta is located on the west side of the Muskingum River, opposite McConnelsville. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.38 square miles (0.98 km 2), of which 0.34 square miles (0.88 km 2) is land and 0.04 square miles (0.10 km 2) is water. [6]

Adams Covered Bridge is a 58-foot (18 m) historic covered bridge in Morgan County, Ohio spanning San Toy Creek near Malta. The bridge was built in 1875 using a "multiple kingpost truss" design. It is no longer used for traffic. It has also been known as the San Toy Bridge and as the Adams - San Toy Covered Bridge. [2]
