"The Two Lisas" received generally positive reviews from critics. Joshua Alston of The A.V. Club gave the episode a "B+" grade and commended the decision to write off Sheila, writing "Shameless has so many characters that even those you care about most have moments when they feel superfluous. I was shocked last year when Ian's absence early in ...
The season picks up two to three months after the events of the previous season. Fiona, officially off house arrest, is still a waitress at the Golden House diner, which has been renamed to Patsy's Pies and is now under the new ownership of Sean Pierce (Dermot Mulroney); Sheila leaves town after her house burns down; Frank, Sammi and Chuckie move into the Gallagher household; Mandy moves to ...
Frank cleans up his antics in preparation for court. Jimmy deals with a sudden visitation by immigration. Sheila gets a visit from Timmy Wong and his mother. With Jody relapsing in his sex addiction, Sheila realizes she has an unfit home and decides to give Hymie back to his biological family. Sheila and Frank later stage an intervention for Jody.
Sheila eventually overcomes her agoraphobia and continues to spend a great deal of her time with Frank. Toward the end of Season 2, Sheila meets Frank's mother Peggy, and the two initially despise each other. Peggy is then diagnosed with terminal cancer, and moves into Sheila's home after starting a fire in the Gallagher's basement from a meth lab.

The first couple episodes of season four started slowly, but as things started to pick up, the momentum has continued and Shameless has delivered yet another outstanding episode." Sobral ...
The show's season premiere was watched by 982,000 viewers, making it the network's biggest turnout for a series premier since Dead Like Me in 2003. The episode airing January 30, "Casey Casden", received 1.45 million total viewers, making Shameless the best performing first-year drama on Showtime. The season finale scored 1.16 million viewers.
"Cascading Failures" received positive reviews from critics. Joshua Alston of The A.V. Club gave the episode a "B–" grade and wrote, "Shameless is a show that refuses to grow up. And that's not always a bad thing, as puerile humor and anti-social behavior are often used to great effect in the show.
[6] Leigh Raines of TV Fanatic gave the episode a 4.5 star rating out of 5 and wrote, "It was a one big pissing contest on this week's episode of Shameless. In "The Sins of My Caretaker," Jimmy was still grappling with that news he found out at the end of last week's episode, "The Helpful Gallaghers."" [7]
