I’m blessed with 3 autoimmunes (lichen planus is one) and have severe itching. For the last 15 years, I’ve taken Allegra everyday as it’s the only thing that keeps me from scratching myself bloody. Maybe it’s a histamine response, I don’t know. But it really helps, along with lotion and warm, not hot showers. Hope you find a fix!
Tacrolimus is an anti-inflammatory medication and used for many applications such as pill, injection or IV form as an anti-rejection med for transplant patients. It also works very well when applied topically in an ointment to calm psoriasis, eczema, lichen planus, granuloma annular and a host of other skin conditions.
Yes- lichen planus has a very high chance of turning into squamous cell carcinoma. I had it on my legs, back, and chest and the several on my legs turned into cancer. I had one cut out and the others froze off. I’ve talked to many people in other groups that has oral LP in their mouth that turned into mouth cancer.

So, I bought metronidazole 250mg tablets and took them morning and night after food for 2 weeks. My lichen planus got cured.
A note: I’m not a health person or vegan or vegetarian or on any special diet. I was literally just so miserable and lichen planus made me feel like I was dying so I stopped eating and accidentally got these results. When I started eating again, literally just kiwi and seeds and chicken broth. I eat like a normal now, but healthier.
I have the skin lichen planus as well as oral lichen planus which affects my gums, cheeks, and tongue. It is very , very painful. I had a very large back surgery in April and I got lichen planus sores on my back as a result of the trauma from surgery my incision that is twenty inches long healed but my sores from lichen planus are still open.
The oral lichen planus irritated the gum to the point that it turned cancerous. Surgery and radiation are next. This is quite rare. Should you want to check out any mouth bumps, find an otolaryngology practice and go yearly just to make sure the irritation is lichen planus. Best to all.
