The Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation, in cooperation with the Riverlife Task Force, the City of Pittsburgh, and Duquesne Light Company, funded and managed the architectural lighting of the bridge. The Point Bridge II was closed to traffic on June 21, 1959, two days after the dedication and grand opening of the Fort Pitt Bridge. It remained standing until demolition began on April 15, 1970 and was completed that following November. The south landing remains, partly shrouded by trees, between West Station Square Drive and West Carson Street.

The Fern Hollow Bridge is a series of three bridges in the East End of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States; each bridge carried Forbes Avenue over a large ravine in Frick Park. The first Fern Hollow Bridge opened in 1901 as a steel deck arch, and was demolished in 1972 while the second bridge was being built.
David McCullough Bridge. The David McCullough Bridge, commonly and historically known as the 16th Street Bridge, is a steel trussed through arch bridge that spans the Allegheny River in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The 16th Street Bridge replaced the Mechanics Street Bridge, completed at the behest of the State of Pennsylvania in 1838. [ 3 ]
