The newer two generations are extremely similar, and both look roughly like this, except the newer generation has slightly rounder corners. It also comes with a braided cable. I'm not aware of any significant functional difference, as they both support Force Touch. 6. Reply.

Just bought a magic trackpad to use on my Windows 11 desktop, currently using Apple's bootcamp drivers no problem. I see that you're going to try the bootcamp drivers uploaded on github, I actually found slightly newer drivers here, not sure what the differences are if any. Just extract the drivers with something like 7-zip and then right-click ...

  4. This seems to reset the trackpad tapping actions. Solved. System Preferences > Trackpad > UNCHECK Tap to Click. Close. TrackPad > CHECK Tap to Click. This seems to reset the trackpad tapping actions. Same here. Update to Monterey 12.4 and lost connection to my external Apple trackpad.

First off, there’s three tiers of trackpad: the usual Windows laptop trackpad, the vastly improved Synaptics trackpad (which is becoming more common, to be fair), and finally the Apple trackpad, which is incredible. So if you’re coming at this only considering a Windows laptop experience, that might be why you’re not understanding.

I'm trying to use my Apple Magic Trackpad 2 with my Windows 10 work computer. I know there is third-party software out there that is safe and works fine that'll make the trackpad work on Windows, but my company's IT security team is reluctant to have any third-party software installed on a work machine.

I mean I would disagree. I prefer using a trackpad on a Mac for general computing. Apple makes such good track pads with such good gestures. I feel like I get a whole other level of functionality with gestures on the Magic Trackpad. It's so seamless. I do use an MX Master as a mouse when needed but I will use the trackpad at least 80% of the time.

  8. Peggy wrote: You may need to charge the trackpad. Note: The original Magic Trackpad uses a AA battery. Which can be a rechargeable AA battery, but that then requires a separate battery charger and swapping batteries. There is no means to recharge the AA battery incorporated within the original Magic Trackpad.

Thinking how it would be so hard to edit videos with preciseness and how photo editing would be a nightmare. I was pleasantly surprised how much more efficient I was with the Magic Trackpad right away. Been using one exclusively on my iMac since 2011 and enjoying it on my 16" Macbook Pro. Apple's trackpads are the best in the industry. 3.

Magic Trackpad disconnects often when attached via USB cable and 100% charged Mac Mini 2018, Sonoma 14.1.2, Firmware 1.9.2 on Magic Trackpad MK203AM/A Model A1535 - with the most recent version of Sonoma 14.1.2 this started happening. 11. Difference between Magic Trackpad 2 and Magic Trackpad 2021?

I brought the newer work Magic Trackpad home for the weekend and boy howdy is the new one ever more responsive. Way less force is required to invoke the fake click. I'm a fan. I've the newer one at work and the older one at home, and it seems to me the newer one requires slightly less force to trigger the faux click.
