One main new feature of PairDrop compared to its predecessor is the possibily to pair devices. This makes it possible to use PairDrop on complex network situations (like public Wi-Fi, university/company network, Apple Private Relay, VPN) or even on mobile data as WebRTC is used for transfer instead of HTTPS as localsend does.

I was excited for the stereo pairing feature and decided to order a second one. I received it yesterday and my experience since then has not been what I had hoped it would be.
