It ended in 2000, but with 50 years of comics, they've been able to just rerun the strip. The football comic is from October, 1999.
They're totally different. Fat Dog Mendoza LOOKS LIKE an obviously alt/indie book published in 1992. Dog Mendonca is a Portuguese occult mystery comic published in 2010 by a completely different author.
702. Oct 2, 2020. #10. Still insane to me Peanuts lasted until 2000. For context, it was 35 when Calvin and Hobbes began, and outlived it by 5 years. I don't have a whole lot of sentimental attachment to much Peanuts stuff, but Schulz has to be the GOAT cartoonist.
You get some Executives who say "We want a contract with X vendor, and we want it done in a week." ...It's nice to want things. With the multiple approvals/reviews that need to happen, bare minimum is a month, and even a month would be a borderline miracle for most engagements. I have 2 of those going on right now.

And you know what, that CG movie they released isn't half bad either even when they're trying to modernise it and give it as happy an ending as anything Peanuts could ever really have in 90 minutes. We didn't get the 4DX experience pre-movie video. The movie was the first time the seats came alive and things got intense quickly.
Lex Luthor is actually smart and has some politcal savvy, the idea of him becoming president in 2024 is almost pedestrian. Right now we live in a world where a more over the top cartoon villain could realistically become president, like Cobra Commander or Skeletor. At least it would explain why Gen X would vote for them.
