American rock supergroup A Perfect Circle has recorded material for four studio albums.The band's music is mostly written by the band's two core members and founders, guitarist Billy Howerdel and Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan, the former writing the music, and the latter writing the lyrics and vocal melodies.

"The Doomed" is a song by American rock band A Perfect Circle. The song was first released as a single on October 16, 2017. It is the band's first single since 2013's "By and Down" for their greatest hits album Three Sixty, and was the lead single for their fourth studio album, Eat the Elephant.
The song opens with the plucking of a harp, before breaking into rhythm track of bass guitar, piano, and a simple drum beat. [11] Keenan croons melodic vocals throughout the song, opening with the line "'Hello', he lied". [12] At the midpoint and end of the song, Howerdel interjects with a wall of sound, echo-laden guitar interlude. [13]
After the release of the band's first album, Mer de Noms, lead singer Maynard James Keenan returned to his other band, Tool in late 2000. [1] While Keenan and guitarist Billy Howerdel had originally planned on working on material for a second album, which would become Thirteenth Step, while he was on the road with Tool. [1]
