FreshChoice is a franchise of locally owned and operated supermarkets across New Zealand. [1]The stores are operated under franchise agreements with Wholesale Distributors Ltd (WDL), a division of Woolworths New Zealand, one of New Zealand's largest retail and distribution companies.
By August 2010, the Woolworths brand had ceased to exist in the South Island. On 14 November 2011, the Meadowlands store in Howick, Auckland was rebranded as Countdown, marking the official end of the Woolworths brand.
