This is a list of number-one singles in Belgium from VRT Top 30 (1970–1995) and Ultratop (1995–present). In Belgium there are two parallel industry standard ("official") hit music charts, one for the Dutch-speaking and another for the French-speaking community.
Ultratop creates charts based on record sales of around 500 retail outlets and legal digital downloads. [2] Currently GfK is the market observer of the charts. The chart broadcasts on Radio Contact on Saturdays from 12:00 to 14:00. The combined number of Ultratop chart listeners on the various radio or TV stations exceeds two million every week.

"Would I Lie to You?" was very successful on the singles charts all over the world. In Europe, it went to number-one in Austria, Flemish Belgium, Germany and the United Kingdom, where the song hit number-one on November 15, 1992, after four weeks on the chart. It also reached number two in Denmark, France, Ireland, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
