Taunusstein (German: [ˈtaʊnʊsˌʃtaɪn] ⓘ) is the biggest town in the Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis in the Regierungsbezirk of Darmstadt in Hessen, Germany. It has 30,068 inhabitants (2020). It has 30,068 inhabitants (2020).
The community, which is a health resort (Kurort), lies 320 m (1,050 ft) above sea level in a sheltered location on a valley slope on the southern slope of the Taunus 12 km (7.5 mi) from Wiesbaden, 7 km (4.3 mi) from Eltville and 7 km (4.3 mi) from Bad Schwalbach.
Waldems is the easternmost municipality in the Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis and borders in the northeast on the municipality of Weilrod, in the east on the municipality of Schmitten, in the southeast on the municipality of Glashütten (all three in the Hochtaunuskreis), in the south and west on the town of Idstein (Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis) and in the northwest on the town of Bad Camberg (Limburg-Weilburg).
