Vinton is a village in Gallia County, Ohio, United States. The population was 224 at the 2020 census. It is part of the rural Point Pleasant micropolitan area.
They were Kyger Creek, North Gallia, Southwestern, and Hannan Trace Local School Districts. In 1983, the taxpayers of the school district approved a bond issue that paid for the construction of four new elementary schools: Bidwell-Porter, Hannan Trace, Southwestern and Vinton. The school opened in the fall of 1992 after the consolidation of the four Gallia County Local School District high schools: Crown City Hannan Trace, Cheshire Kyger Creek, Vinton North Gallia, and Patriot Southwestern. The original high school made use of the former Kyger Creek HS building. River Valley has over 435 students and a staff of 42.
