Schneider Arena was named in honor of Rev. Herman D. Schneider, O.P., the founder of Providence College hockey and a longtime teacher at the school. It is located at the far northern end of campus, on the corner of Huxley Ave. and Admiral St., and is notable for the reflective energy-conserving ceiling that was installed in 1992.

Smithfield on Ice, January 2009. 7 Up Christmas on Ice was an annual ice rink event taking place in several towns and cities around Ireland. It was first held in 2002 and the last time in the winter of 2009. In the first year more than 90,000 people attended the event in Smithfield, Dublin. [1] It was the country's first outdoor ice rink.

Smithfield is a town that is located in Providence County, Rhode Island, United States. It includes the historic villages of Esmond, Georgiaville, Mountaindale, Hanton City, Stillwater and Greenville. The population was 22,118 at the 2020 census. Smithfield is the home of Bryant University, a private four year college.
